Botley Rd postbox out of order for upgrade

The postbox on Botley Rd / Alexandra Rd is now out of order.

It will be replaced by a new model nicknamed ‘the postbox of the future’ with a solar panel.

It will also have a digitally activated drawer, activated by scanning a barcode, to post parcels (up to the size of a shoe box).

Royal Mail said customers can use the service using the Royal Mail app, and can request proof of posting, and tracking of their parcel.

Because Royal Mail is struggling in the face of competition from other delivery companies.

The company believes that expanding its parcel services and make them as convenient as possible will keep it in the market.

The rise of online shopping means the number of parcel deliveries has greatly increased.

The only available information is that it will take several weeks.

I will make sure to follow-up with Royal Mail if it hasn’t been upgraded by the mid-March.

Royal Mail is changing the front door of the post box to replace it with a new one featuring all the new functionalities.
